Project 365 – 2015 Edition – Post 41 (Wrapping Up)

Aaaand I’m done. Another Project 365 is in the books and this is my last set of photos to wrap up 2015.

Four years ago I challenged myself to take a picture a day for 365 days. Trying that challenge again in 2015, I found it to be a whole different ballgame. This time around I have kids. Two of them. Which means two semi-easy subjects to photograph every day for a year. That also meant, on the negative side, that it was a lot harder to get photos off my camera, onto the computer and edited, and posted online. Because this time around I had two young kids and all that young kids entail… diapers and spit up and feedings and naps and baths and tears and drama and playtime and more diapers and the laundry… oh the laundry…

After taking a photo a day for the past year, I am thrilled to now have a whole bunch of memories of my daughter’s first year of life. She was about 6 weeks old when I started, and now she’s toddling around, trying out words and sounds and generally being cute and adorable and ever so much older than 6 weeks old. ? A year ago my son was a chubby 19 month old who still spoke mostly gibberish. Now he’s 2 1/2, carries on full conversations, is a great little helper and sweet older brother, and the chubbiness is started to slowly melt away as he is more and more active and keeps growing like a weed. *sigh* Oh how very much can change in a year.

This time around I learned to look for photo worthy moments in the right-now-every-day-mess and see the beauty that is living with and caring for tiny people. It’s not all pretty… or clean… or happy, but it’s our life right now. And you know what? It’s so. very. beautiful. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
